Let me start by introducing myself. I’m Sidecar Adventures. I hate About Me sections. I’m a short, fat, femme rider. I am an introverted adventurer with a very extroverted partner. I’m the road captain for a motley group of riders who for the most part were all beginning riders together.
I started riding in 2006 and from the very beginning I rode sidecars. Not because I was afraid or I thought they were more stable but because I love them. I think they’re cool. Eventually, I realized that there weren’t a lot of female voices in the world of motorcycles and even fewer female sidecar voices. So a started a blog. At first, it was just a travel blog. I soon realized that since I don’t travel all the time, it was going to be a very lonely blog that I didn’t update much. So I expanded the blog to include other things. I talk about bike maintenance, riding in general, my relationship with my partner and our riding group, gear, and sometimes things like food, makeup, and other random life stuff.
I’m not trying to be the voice of the female rider here. I’m just sharing my life and adding my voice to the rapidly forming strong chorus of female riders. I hope to be part of the reason that the women after me find themselves accepted and represented in the riding community.
